My Breast Cancer Story
My Breast Cancer Story was created to increase the social support system for breast cancer patients and survivors by providing a social platform where patients can share their journey through photos and storytelling to re-author their experience and assist in their healing. In the medical field this is known as Narrative Therapy. I used this therapy on myself when I was diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer this past February. I was lonely, playing superwoman and often in pain. I told my story and everything began to change.

Studies show that storytelling in breast cancer patients over a 6 month period had reduced psychological distress, and altered immune function. Decreasing recurrence and increasing chances of survival.
